To ensure the successful and efficient renovation of the asphalt road within the vital port environment, we will focus on the direct and organized execution of the following steps: 1. Preparatory & Initial Planning (Pre-Execution) Immediate Survey and Assessment: Conduct a rapid survey of the targeted road to identify major damages (deep cracks, potholes, depressions) and pinpoint the most affected sections requiring immediate intervention. Define Scope of Work: Precisely outline the area of the road to be renovated and determine the required asphalt layer thickness based on the nature of traffic loads within the port. Security & Operational Coordination: Directly coordinate with King Abdulaziz Port management in Dammam to confirm available working hours, alternative traffic diversion routes, and obtain necessary security permits for work crews and equipment, with utmost priority given to avoiding any disruption to port operations. Material & Equipment Mobilization: Immediately order and procure the necessary quantities of hot asphalt mix, binding agents (Prime Coat/Tack Coat), and paving/compaction equipment (milling machines, pavers, rollers). 2. Direct Field Execution Site Security & Traffic Management: Immediately deploy site security teams to place clear barriers, warning signs, and directional signage. Activate the pre-planned traffic diversion scheme to ensure work safety and maintain port operational continuity. Removal of Damaged Asphalt: Immediately commence milling operations to remove old, cracked asphalt layers to the specified depth. Safely manage and transport removed asphalt debris away from the work area as quickly as possible. Sub-Base Treatment (If Necessary): If depressions or weaknesses are found in the underlying layers, immediate repairs will be carried out, such as leveling and intensive compaction. Application of Binding & Asphalt Layers: Apply a Prime Coat to the clean base layer to enhance adhesion. Begin laying asphalt layers (base layer, then surface layer) using asphalt pavers to ensure uniform thickness and quality. Apply a Tack Coat between layers to ensure complete bonding. Immediate Compaction: Roller teams will immediately follow the paving team to compact the asphalt while hot, ensuring the required density and durability for the new road. 3. Final Finishing & Rapid Handover Road Markings: Once paving is complete and the asphalt has cooled, immediate work will begin on applying essential road markings (lane lines, stop lines) for traffic safety. Removal of Work Barriers: As soon as the road is confirmed safe for use, all work barriers and equipment will be removed to fully reopen the road. Operational Handover: The road will be handed over to the Port management, fully ready for immediate use, emphasizing the quality of the completed work.
